Zhang Jike recommends this new blade to all ambitious players who play an attacking game but seek even better ball control. The Chinese superstar, who runs a table tennis school in his home country, knows from experience that ultra-fast blades aren't always the best choice for every player. This insight led to the creation of the Donic Zhang Jike New Era. Like its predecessor, its core is made of kiri wood with two layers of ayous. However, it features a unique twist: instead of the usual two, three finely woven synthetic fibre layers are used, giving the blade an even more refined touch and enhanced feel for the ball. The outer veneers are made of limba, which is slightly softer than the koto wood used in the Zhang Jike Original Carbon, further improving control. The result is a well-balanced offensive blade that offers the necessary power along with excellent ball control: Donic Zhang Jike New Era
